The Ruth Young Center for Maryland works with state, local, and private agencies in the areas of child welfare; juvenile justice; parental, infant, and early childhood mental health; child sex trafficking; behavioral health; student performance; and homeless services.

The faculty and staff are working in all 24 jurisdictions throughout the State

  • conducting research, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities;
  • engaging in public policy research, financing, and systems design and implementation;
  • gathering data to inform education system decision-making;
  • training, coaching, and providing ongoing workforce development support;
  • serving as an intermediate purveyor and support implementation of evidence-based and promising practices;
  • facilitating meetings and strategic planning; and
  • providing project management, grant-writing, and document development.
