START Model Data Training, Module 1: Training Introduction and Excel Overview

The purpose of this START Model Data Training is to ensure that staff who will be entering data are familiar with the data collection process, data fields and definitions, and timeline for data submission in order to support quality START implementation and assessment of outcomes.

At the completion of the training, participants will:

• Achieve at least entry-level competence in file management and data entry into Excel
• Understand how each variable and response option is defined in the Excel spreadsheet’s data dictionary and know when and how to correctly enter the data
• Appreciate the importance of data collection for quality implementation, assessment of outcomes for families, and program sustainability

This START Model Data Training is organized into three modules. Each module is divided into lessons.
